鎌倉ツアー2024 We went to Kamakura again!

2024年11月の祝日、松崎研恒例行事となりつつある鎌倉ツアーが行われました。

参加希望者は当日現地集合という大雑把で無計画なイベントでしたが、参加者の中に鎌倉に詳しい方がいたので幸い何とかなりました。

I went on a day trip to Kamakura on a holiday in November last year.

参加者８名

Participants' ages ranged from 6 to 58 years old.

祝日の駅周辺は激混みだったので、今回は少し郊外のエリアを攻めることになりました。

This time, we avoided the crowds and explored the suburban areas.

まずはバスに乗って報国寺へ。

抹茶味のお菓子に親しんでいる外国人参加者に、ガチの抹茶を飲ませてやりました。

Our first destination was Hokokuji Temple, which is famous for its bamboo grove.

美しい竹林で有名な寺

Being in the bamboo grove makes me want to dance.

報国寺に続いて、近くにある浄妙寺へ。

その先の石窯ガーデンテラスなる素敵なレストランでシャレオツなランチをいただきました。

Our next destination was Jomyoji Temple and the restaurant located beyond it.

腹ごなしに駅方面に向けて散歩。

途中、いくつかの神社にお参りしました。

After lunch, we walked towards the station, visiting several shrines along the way.

菅原道真を祀る神社。無事に学位がとれますように。

言わずとしれた鶴岡八幡宮。

Tsurugaoka hachimangu shrine, the biggest and the most famous shrine in Kamakura.

The gentleman who appeared on Komachi Street.

いろいろ寄り道をしつつ、鎌倉駅に帰り着く頃には日も暮れ始めていました。

その後、時間に余裕のある人たちは稲村ヶ崎へ。

After that, a few romantics went to Inamuragasaki to watch the sunset.

風と波が強く、日が沈む頃には潮まみれです。

The wind was strong and the waves were high. Soaked...

朝からずっと天気がよくて、最高のレジャー日和でした。

次回はスキー合宿かなぁ

The weather has been great since the morning, and I had an amazing time!

今年の思い出 学会編 Conference in Kumamoto

2023年の思い出　第2弾は学会で行った熊本についてです。

Memories of 2023 part 2 is about Kumamoto, where we went to participate in a conference.

2023年第84回応用物理学会秋季学術講演会が熊本城ホールで行われ、MALTからは3人で出席してきました。

The 84th JSAP Autumn Meeting 2023 was held in Kumamoto-jo Hall, and three from MALT attended.

羽田発熊本行き。

会場は熊本城の程近く。

Kumamoto-jo Hall is located near Kumamoto Castle.

熊本藩初代藩主。

He did not live in Kumamoto Castle.

くまモンがお出迎えです。
According to Wikipedia, Kumamon enjoys tremendous popularity throughout the world.

途中でくまモン本人が来てくれました。人気モンです。

The real Kumamon came to the venue. He enjoys tremendous popularity at least here.

学会というと、熊本の他にIBA & PIXE 2023で富山へ行ったり、質量分析学会同位体比部会で青森県の浅虫温泉へ行ったり、EA-AMS 9で韓国ソウルへ行ったりしているはずですが、何故か写真が全く残っていない。
In fact, we attended several other conferences in different locations, but I omit them because I don't have any photos from those events.

あと今年度はAMSシンポジウムを東京でやる予定だと思いますが、まだ何も決まっていないのが心配すぎますね。。。

初詣後の鎌倉ハイキング Hiking around Kamakura

こんにちは！

前回に引き続き、鎌倉ハイキングのようすです。

We hiked around Kamakura during the New Year holidays.

全長5キロほどのコースでした

I was already tired when we got to the starting point.

On a clearer day, you can see Mt. Fuji.

思ったより急な斜面もあり

行程のおよそ半分くらいの場所

Only Qi-san looks fine.

この辺からだいぶ疲れてきちゃって写真を撮るのが疎かになってしまいました。

気づけば三時間ほど歩いてハイキングコースは終了。出口にあった瑞泉寺というところへ行ってみました。

It took about 3 hours to walk the entire course.

その後、途中でお昼ご飯を食べつつ鎌倉駅へ。

Then we walked to Kamakura station, eating lunch on the way.

北鎌倉駅とは打って変わって賑やかな鎌倉駅

ちゃんと体を動かすのは久しぶりでしたが、中々に気持ちよかったです。

次はMALTスキーツアーを企画したいと思います。

2023年の初詣に松崎研究室の有志で鎌倉へ行ってきました。

Matsuzaki laboratory conducted Kamakura tour during the New Year holidays in 2023.

北鎌倉駅に10時集合な

参加者は教職員・学生ほか、合わせて８名。

ぞろぞろと連れ立って、目的のお寺へ行きました。

There were 8 participants in this tour.

初詣は建長寺でした

天気も大変良かったので、建長寺の裏手から天園ハイキングコースというところへ行くこととなりました。

AMS14 conference 4

こんにちは、ミスターです。

Hello, this is MALT.

AMS14に出席するために、オタ大に行ってきました。

We went to uOttawa to attend AMS14 conference.

Just before a session.

月曜日にはバーベキュー、木曜日にはバンケットがありました。
We had a welcome BBQ on Monday and a banquet dinner on Thursday.

ドリンクは二杯目以降有料・・・

湿原探索隊 Wetlands Expeditions

２日目は朝食前に車山の肩まで登りました。
The second day, we climbed Mt. Kurumayama before breakfast.

遠くに槍ヶ岳が見えるときのポーズ。そんな薄着で、山を舐めるな！

We could see Mt. Yarigatake.

霧ヶ峰の名に負けない霧が出てきたので早々に退散。

It got foggy as the name "Kirigamine" suggested.

朝食後にみんなで八島ヶ原湿原を探索しました。
After breakfast, we all explored the Yashimagahara wetlands.

山小屋の夜 Night at a Hut

山の夜は深い。

そしてまだ９月中旬というのに霧ヶ峰の夜はものすごく寒い。

The night at Kirigamine is very cold even in the middle of September.


そんな中、21時に消灯ということだったので、大慌てで飲み始めました。

As light-out time was 9pm, we started to drink in a hurry.

薪ストーブで暖を取りながら。

Drinking while keeping ourselves warm with a wood stove. 

グランドピアノがあったので急遽演奏会。

There is a grand piano. A instant concert was held. 

結局消灯時間を過ぎてもなお、話が絶えることはありませんでした。 

At last, we continued talks until midnight even though it was long past light-out time.

MALT合宿in霧ヶ峰 MALT Seminar Trip

先日、長野の霧ヶ峰にてMALT合宿を行いました。

MALTの合宿といえば最近はスキー合宿ばかりだったのでこの時期に行うのは珍しいです。

We went on a seminar lodging trip in Kirigamine, Nagano.

エンジェルくんは新宿からバスで合流。西口のあそこです。

We went for a walk before dinner.
