主任室のお片付け Clean Up Room

こんにちは！

Hello, this is MALT.

松崎研の学生は現在4名、さらにMALTのスタッフも増えてきていて、スペースの確保に難儀しています。

The inhabitants of MALT village are growing and the population density is increasing.

今回、インドから研究生の方がいらっしゃることになり、MALT主任室（松崎居室）に臨時のデスクを設けることになりました。

In June, We had a research student from India, and we decided to set up a temporary desk in Prof Matsuzaki's room.

元々は集まってお弁当食べたり、簡単な打ち合わせをしたりしていたスペースです。

棟内の配置換えをしたとき、かつて倉庫にあったものが何故かここに仮置きされてそのままになっていました。

This place had been valued as a place for MALT residents to discard items they no longer need.

何がどこにあるかは完全に把握している。

I found a 10 year old ramen magazine and immediately threw it away.

サンプルを別の場所に移したり、不要になった書類を捨てたりしています。

It was a good opportunity to clean up.

さて、何とか新人を1人迎え入れた矢先ですが、来月からさらに2人の新人が来る予定となっております。

松崎研の生活 Student Life of Matsuzaki Laboratory

こんにちは！
Hello, this is MALT.

そろそろ大学院入試があるので、ちょっと松崎研究室の宣伝をかねて、今年度前期の学生のようすを紹介してみます。

Here is an introduction to student life in the Matsuzaki Laboratory.

松崎研究室では、大学院生（修士・博士）を募集しています。受け入れ専攻は、工学系研究科原子力国際専攻です。

MALTのタンデム加速器を用いたあらゆる研究をすることができます。

The students in Matsuzaki laboratory are conducting various research using MALT tandem accelerators (5MV pelletron).

2024年春から新しく2人の学生が松崎研究室に仲間入りし、現在の所属学生は4人です。
There have been many students from Asian countries as well as Japan in Matsuzaki laboratory.

さて、今年は専攻の入試説明会がこれまでよりだいぶ早い4月に行われました。

先輩たちはもちろん、入学したての新入生にも手伝ってもらいました。

This year’s guidance is already finished.

これから授業やセミナーを通して、自分たちの研究に向けて必要な知識を蓄えていきます。

7月には高校生の見学会では案内人を務めあげていました。

We often offers facility tours for visitors.

Guiding visitors helps to deepen both student guides and visitor's understanding of the accelerators.

先月、和光市の理研を訪問し、サイクロトロンやタンデム加速器を見学させてもらいました。

We visited RIKEN in Wako city to see the cyclotron and tandem accelerator.

また、先日は青森県の弘前大でゼミ合宿を行いました。

MALTユーザーの堀内先生にお世話になりました。

This year, we held a seminar camp in Hirosaki City, Aomori Prefecture.

第36回タンデム研究会 the 36th Meeting for Tandem Accelerators and their Associated Technologies

こんにちは！

Hello, this is MALT.

前回に引き続き研究会に関するご報告です。

This time the content is about another research meeting.

6月に和光の理化学研究所で行われた第36回タンデム研究会に参加してきました。

タンデム加速器に関する知識と経験をあれやこれや持ち寄る研究会です。

In June, "the 36th meeting for tandem accelerators and their associated technologies" was held at RIKEN in Wako city.

研究会の表示もされていました。

理研といえばニホニウム。駅からの道はニホニウム通りと名づけられ、入口にはニホニウムの碑がありました。

RIKEN is the birthplace of nihonium, an element with atomic number 113.

Wako city is full of nihonium everywhere.

研究会のあとには見学会もあり大いに盛り上がりました。

100人近い参加者がいたそうです。

After the meeting, we had a RIKEN tour.

We were shown the RANS-III, a portable compact neutron source system.

お昼ご飯に食堂を利用しました。

昔の学食みたいな値段ですが、支払いはユニクロみたいな自動計算してくれる機械を通して交通系ICカードで行うというハイテクな感じ。

Lunch at the RIKEN cafeteria was so inexpensive that I fulfilled my dream of eating both curry and ramen.

ほー、いいじゃないか。こういうのでいいんだよ。

Chinese noodle is a taste of nostalgia for many Japanese.

懇親会も理研の中にある広沢クラブという食堂で行われました。

タンデム研究会では神戸大学で行われた第32回以来、実に5年ぶりの懇親会だったみたいです。

A social gathering was held on the first day of the meeting.

5年ぶりということで気合が入ってました。

Sushi, sake and happiness.

懇親会後はみんなで和光の街へ繰り出して、夜遅くまで親睦を深めました。

After the party, we went out to the streets of Wako to deepen fellowship until late at night.

全日程終了後は、個人的に理研の中にある東大原子核科学研究センターを見学させてもらったり、松崎研OBの三宅さんに現在の仕事を紹介してもらったりしました。

After the entire program was over, we were also introduced to the workplaces and jobs by our friends at RIKEN.

そして連日、和光の街へ

And we went out to the streets of Wako again...

第24回AMSシンポジウムのご報告 JAMS-24 Symposium on Asano Campus

こんにちは！　お久しぶりです。
Hello, this is MALT.

昨年度のAMSシンポジウムはなんとMALTが主催して実施しました。
無事に閉会しましたので、松崎研のみんなの活躍を少しだけご報告します。
The last AMS symposium was hosted by MALT and closed successfully.

シンポジウムは昨年度3月に浅野キャンパスの武田ホールで行われました。
The symposium was held last March at Takeda Hall on the Asano campus.

日本AMS研究協会会長によるご挨拶

口頭発表22件、ポスター発表11件でした。
年度末の忙しい時期なのに多くの方に参加いただいて大感謝です。
There were 22 oral presentations and 11 poster presentations.

Xu-san is a student of Matsuzaki lab.

Qi-san is a staff of Matsuzaki lab.

Xu-san and Qi-san are doing research on iodine-129 in seawater.

懇親会は武田ホールホワイエにて盛大に開かれました。

準備期間わずかでハラハラしましたが、川本さんがデリバリーサイトを駆使して超速でやってのけてくれました。

There was a party after the first day's session.

Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, whether they drank, didn't drink, or weren't allowed to drink.

閉会後にMALTの見学会も（一応）開催しました。

参加された方々にとっては見慣れた施設だとは思いますが、かわいそうに思ったのか4人だけ参加してくれました。

After all sessions were over, a tour of MALT was also conducted.

1人だけMALTが初めて。開催した甲斐がある

Situation like 4 guides and 1 visitor.
