　長かった輪読もようやく終わりが見えてきました。

 I make a report of collaborating study with high school students.

 We have come to see the end of reading a paper.

　スフェルールの捜索大会が目前に迫っています。

　体調を万全に整えて臨みましょう。

 A spherule hunt is near at hand.

 We must condition ourselves against it.

MALT Seminar 27 June 2014

　こんにちは、ミスターです。

 Hello, this is MALT.

　今回のセミナーは寺井研の毛偉さんを迎えて行われました。

 In this seminar, Dr. Wei Mao gave a lecture for us.

　毛さんは９月くらいからMALTの一員になるかもしれません。

　歓迎会しなければ！（酒が飲める！）

 He may become a member of MALT from September.
 We must have a welcome party again!

卒論生歓迎会 Welcome party!

　卒論で松崎研究室に配属された木島くんと中庄司くんの歓迎会が開催されました。

 A welcome party for Kijima-kun and Nakashoji-kun was held.
 They are 4th year students of Faculty of Engineering.

MALTスタッフ総動員で池之端のかもめ亭を貸しきりました。

If MALT staff and students unite our effort, we can reserve the whole shop.

ワインを嗜む。

We enjoyed wines.

　毎回食べきれない量の料理が出されるかもめ亭。今回も敗北しました。

カラオケも嗜む。

We enjoyed karaoke too.

四国サンプリング Sampling in Shikoku

　こんにちは、ミスターです。

 Hello, this is MALT.

　せっかく四国に行ったので、ついでにサンプリングしてきました。

 As we went to Shikoku, we took samples on the way back.

　途中で雨が強くなり残念ながらサンプリングは中止。

 Unfortunately, the rain had gotten heavier in the middle of sampling. Finish!

謎の店でご飯食べて帰りました。お疲れ様でした。

愛媛大学ミュージアム Ehime University Museum

　こんにちは、ミスターです。

Hello, this is MALT.

　愛媛大学ミュージアムの見学会にも参加しました。 

 I also visited the Ehime University Museum.

東大総合研究博物館の渡邉課長と。

　愛大の中でも特に優れた研究成果や資料を大きく４つのテーマに分けて展示してあります。実に面白い。

　特別に昆虫標本収蔵展示室にも入れてもらいました。大量の標本が引出し状にしまってありワクワクしました。

　一番の特徴は学生アルバイトたちがビシッと気持よく案内してくれることかもしれません。子どもやお年寄りにもおすすめです。

　これを機に他の大学の博物館も見てみたくなりました。

 It exhibits especially outstanding research results and materials under four themes.
 In this time, we could enter a store and exhibition room of insect specimen.
 A large number of specimens which was stored in drawer made me highly excited.

大学博物館等協議会・博物科学会 The University Counsil

大学博物館等協議会ならびに博物科学会に出席するため愛媛大学に行ってきました。

 I visited Ehime University to attend the University Museum Council.

絶好の学会日和。

It was a good day for a conference.

100人以上参加していたようです。会場はかなりいっぱいいっぱいでした。

　博物館関連の学会に参加するのは初めてでした。

　これまで聞いたことがない「展示学」や、他館の取り組みについてのお話は刺激的でした。

　ぜひ、MALTの運営に活かしたいものです。

 It was the first time to attend a conference for museums.

The lecture about exhibition studies and the presentation about the efforts of other museum were exiting.

基礎プロも残りわずか Basic Project

　こんにちは、ミスターです。

 Hello, this is MALT.

　火曜日は基礎プロジェクトの日！

　今回は諸事情ありまして、使える写真が少ないです！

 Basic project is held every Tuesday.

今年はまだ一回も雨が降っていない！

It still has not rain once on the project day.

　とんぼが何か絡まってると思ったらシオカラトンボの交尾らしいです。

　青いほうがオス。

 The copulation of dragonfly (Shiokara-tombo;Orthetrum albistylum speciosum) .

 A male is the blue one.

福島サンプリングの一方で as like as chalk and cheese

　こんにちは、ミスターです。

　福島に行っている間、MALTでは楠野さんと川女の２人が勉強会をやっていました。

　夏休み中に、実サンプルを使って宇宙塵を捜索する予定です。たくさん見つかるとイイネ！

 Kusuno-san and high school students had a learning session in MALT while we went to Fukushima for sampling.
 We plan to search for cosmic dusts from the actual sample during the summer vacation.

楠野さんが持って帰ったメガロドンの歯に興味津々。

They looked at teeth of megalodon with great interest.

初夏の福島サンプリング Sampling in Fukushima

　こんにちは、ミスターです。

 Hello, this is MALT.

　サンプリングから帰ってきました。

 We came home MALT from Fukushima sampling.

川！

飯！大漁！

 We collected samples in mountains and rivers.

　二日間とも天気が良く、気持よくサンプリングすることができました。

 It was fine both days, so we worked pleasantly.

MALT seminar 20140613

　こんにちは、ミスターです。

 Hello, this is MALT.

　卒論生との輪講を行いました。

　AMSの現状と将来について書かれたJullさんの"Accelerator mass spectrometry:Is the future bigger or smaller?"を一気に読みました。

 We held a seminar, and read a paper written about AMS.

吉田邦夫先生も一緒に！

　続いて楠野さんのサンプリング報告も行われました。

 And Kusuno-san reported her sampling too.


　今日から福島にサンプリングに行きます。晴れるといいな。

 We'll go to Fukushima for sampling this weekend.
 I hope the weather will clear up!

ヨウ素マシンタイム 129I AMS Starting

　こんにちは、ミスターです。

　今週はヨウ素129の測定を行っていました。

　筑波大学チームと学習院大学チームが測定に訪れました。

 129I-AMS was performed this week.

 Tsukuba team and Gakushuin team visited MALT for their measurement.

楠野さん帰還！ Kusuno-san Returned

　こんにちは、ミスターです。

 Hello, this is MALT.


　海上サンプリングに行っていた楠野さんが無事に帰還しました。

 Kusuno-san returned to MALT from her on-board sampling.

メガロドンの歯の化石と思われるものを手土産に。

She have a souvenir which is thought to be a fossil tooth of a megalodon.

おつかれさまでした！

二度漬け禁止 Beer and Fried Skewer

　こんばんは、ミスターです。

 Hello, this is MALT.

　弘前大学の堀内さんがいらっしゃったので夜に根津の串揚げ屋さんへ。

 Horiuchi-san visited MALT from Hirosaki University, and then we went drinking.

　何故か堀内さんが撮影してくれました。
 I don't know why the guest took a photo.

　れんこん揚げ美味しかったです。
 Anyway, fried lotus root (renkon) was delicious.

　松崎研究室にも卒論生が配属されました。２人も！

 Two students entered Matsuzaki laboratory to study for their graduation.

イオン源の作業のお手伝いをしてもらいました。

 They helped me with a ion source work.

なかなか頼もしい立ち姿。

A man on this side is not a student but a MALT staff.

廃液回収祭り Waste Liquid Collecting Festival

　こんにちは、ミスターです。

 Hello, this is MALT.

　さきほどMALTの片隅に溜めこまれていた実験廃液が回収されていきました。

 Waste liquid pooled in a corner of MALT was collected.

あまりの量に、さながら祭りの様相を呈しております。

It is just like a festival.

　ゴールデンウィーク中、潮干狩り行った時にトイレでこんな光景をみたことがあるような気がする。

 I have ever seen a similar queue for the restroom in a playground.

松には鶴を、池には亀を The Crane on Pine, the Turtle in Pond

　こんにちは、ミスターです。

　基礎プロジェクトで撮った三四郎池の写真の続き。

 This is the pictures I took around the Sanshiro-ike pond during the basic project.

初夏の池はきれいですが、虫が多いのが難点です。

The pond in early summer is beautiful,but a large number of flies is exactly "the fly in the ointment". 

鯉ばかりが目立っていますが、亀もいます。

There are not only carp but also turtles in the pond.

こちらは別の亀。亀の甲羅の年輪を使った年代測定とかどうだろう。

Another turtle.

 I wonder if the radiocarbon dating by growth rings of tortoise shell is possible.

きそぷろ！ Basic Project!

　こんにちは、ミスターです。

 Hello, this is MALT.

　今週も基礎プロジェクトがありました。今日はサンプリングの日です。

 We had the basic project this week too.
 Today is the sampling day.

　サンプリングの前に講義も行います。季節感を出してみました。

 Before sampling, I gave a lecture to students.

 The hydrangea produced the seasonal appearance.

　三四郎池の緑もいよいよ深まってきました。サザエさんのオープニングみたいな構図。

 The green around the pond gets darker.

 The season is going into the next stage.
